Calling for Volunteers for the California Democratic State Convention

Dear Democrat,

Come join Chairman John Burton and the members of the California Democratic Party as we begin to take action for 2010! Our State Convention depends on the overwhelming turnout of our dedicated volunteers and we need your help again at our 2010 State Convention April 16- 18 in Los Angeles.

www.cadem.org/volunteer2010

The California Democratic Party has always relied on the involvement of grassroots activists and volunteers to make our Democratic Party successful. Without your energy, time and dedication we would not be able to elect Democrats around California and to the White House.

We will need more than 800 volunteers to facilitate a productive and enjoyable convention for the approximately 3,500 delegates, guests and press in attendance. Volunteers are needed in several areas – some assignments will require sitting while others may involve standing or acting as a runner. Please let us know as soon as possible if you have any special needs and/or physical limitations. We will do our best to position you within your ability and interest.

This year we will be taking action to increase our Democratic majorities in the Legislature and Congress, elect a Democratic Governor and return Barbara Boxer to the United States Senate. There may be opportunities for volunteers to attend General Session and to hear some of our great speakers after their shifts. This will truly be an exciting and memorable convention!

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer form by March 1, 2010. If you have any questions, please contact Christopher Guerrero, Deputy Political Director at (916) 442-5707 or email volunteer2010@cadem.org.

I look forward to seeing you at the Convention.

Sincerely,

Christopher Guerrero
Deputy Political Director
California Democratic Party

Please note: In order to volunteer at the State Convention you must sign-up in advance. There will be a mandatory meeting for all volunteers on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

DR. ONG for DNC- API Voice for the Community

“Dedicated to bridging the Democratic Party’s values with the needs of the community, expanding membership in the Democratic Party and solidifying the Democratic Party’s UNITED strength.”

Dear Fellow Democrat,

I am a lifelong Democrat humbly seeking your endorsement for the upcoming Democratic National Committee member elections Nov. 13-15. I will utilize the relationships and skills I have gained from working directly in communities and various organizations to relay the message on a national level to achieve our goals for a strong and sustainable Democratic Party.

My goals for a thriving Democratic Party:

1) Increase youth participation with heavy emphasis on mentorship and successive leadership
2) Target and prioritize increased voter registration for Democrats in red areas
3) Provide direct volunteer support for communities in need of more Democratic leaders

On the statewide effort, I currently hold the position of Statewide Treasurer for the Asian Pacific Islander Caucus in the California Democratic Party and co-founder of the revived Filipino American Club of Alameda County.

It would be a privilege to dedicate my energy and experience to the California Democratic Party as a member of the Democratic National Committee for the 2008-2012 term.

In Solidarity,

Dr. Jennifer H. Ong
