Southern California Outreach & Local Clubs Chair

Steve S. Kang is the Director of External Affairs for Koreatown Youth & Community Center (KYCC). Prior to joining KYCC, Mr. Kang served as District Director in the CA State Assembly and Executive Director of the Korean American Coalition – Los Angeles (KAC-LA), a national advocacy nonprofit organization focused on civic engagement.

Mr. Kang was born in South Korea and immigrated to the United States after the Third Grade. Currently, he is the President of the Korean American Democratic Committee (KADC) and serves on various Board of Director positions with community and nonprofit organizations in the greater Los Angeles area.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors from Columbia University and Master of Science from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In 2016, Mr. Kang was honored by the Empowerment Congress as one of 40 Emerging Civic Leaders Under 40.
